History

In 1985, three Louisville entrepreneurs made a twenty hour road trip to pitch their idea for providing custom audio systems to a preeminent American motorcycle manufacturer. After returning home in the wee hours of the morning, Radio Sound had its first customer and was well on its way to becoming the foremost supplier of complete powersports audio systems to original equipment manufacturers.

Our reputation for equipment reliability in harsh environments, and our focus on an intuitive user experience, has helped us grow from that first OEM customer to relationships with a variety of powersports manufacturers. By 1995 we had outgrown our downtown location and moved into our current building. In 2005 we further expanded our vehicle applications to include snowmobiles and later to off-road vehicles. We are still a privately held company that has stayed true to our original mission with a dedicated and innovative staff always willing to be responsive to our customers.
